Lighting Sales & Specifications Specialist for Greater Toronto Area


Postion Overview

We are looking for an experienced Lighting Sales & Specifications Specialist for Greater Toronto Area to promote the company's products and brand image and increase visibility. The role is responsible for growing business and achieving sales targets within the assigned territory. This role is a key sales position with responsibility for driving significant growth for the organization.


  • Develop sales and profitability in the assigned territory, among both existing and future customers;
  • Leads all aspects of the sales process, while leveraging other sales, marketing and operational resources;
  • Evaluate and manage business opportunities and potential projects;
  • Create and implement new sales strategies to achieve pre-established objectives;
  • Promote the company's products and brand image and increase visibility;
  • Conduct product updates and presentations;
  • Conduct personal and virtual meetings;
  • Provide solutions to problems in order to build customer loyalty and satisfaction;
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers and suppliers;
  • Keep up to date on changes with respect to customers and the competition;
  • Network with architects and designers and assist them with project specification;
  • Develop a strong knowledge of Edison Lighting’s product offering;
  • Keep up to date on the technical requirements for the various types of products;
  • Support and update electrical engineers


  • 5+ years' proven lighting industry experience in Sales or similar role is required
  • Degree or diploma is required
  • Knowledge of sustainable lighting solutions
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Effective & demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with results-driven approach
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Customer-oriented with strong negotiation ability
  • Good overall technical vision and understanding
  • Valid driver's license and access to a car
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Independent, proactive and self-motivated person
  • Comfortable networking and developing professional relationships
  • Experience using MS Office Suite desktop applications, such as MS Word and Excel, Social Media savvy
